Stuff not working !!

OK, that's weird, but thanks for the suggestion.

I turned off the Internet connection, shut down Comodo Firewall and MS Security Essentials and the wizard worked for 3 emails.

I turned stuff back on one at a time and tested between each time and it still worked.

I checked both Comodo and MSE and they reported nothing nor did they record any events that they may have looked at.

I guess I will see what happens after new email comes in, but MSE always records dubious activity regardless of threat level.

It is working but I have no idea why. [:)]

Hi All,

Is it me or what?

I just had 4 emails come in to one Identity and tried to create filter using the funnel on the extreme right.

I did all four emails into 4 different sub-folders under the same main folder and closed Pegasus.

On a alter restart only the last filter was saved so I had to manually go back and create filters for the other 3.

Next, the "F8" in the message view section does nothing.

I just created three filters using the wizard via the filter funnel icon without a problem.  When you recreated the filters for the other three did you use the same procedure?

What were you expecting the F8 key to do?  When in a message editor window or reader window the F8 key should bring you back to the message tab from an attachment, annotation, special, or merge tab.

By the way, this is a clean install (c:\PMail) with all defaults left intact.

No, I created the other three using the funnel over near the left and manually entered the information in as I had already dragged the emails to their folders after realizing that only one of the earlier four filters had been saved. I don't trust that wizard anymore.

There is a button that shows locked down when clicking it which has a tooltip of "Preview mode" or something close to that. The button goes down and nothing changes. Well, nothing that I could see.

That's still using the wizard just without pulling the info from an existing message.  Odd that it worked this way but not the other.

I can think of two Preview buttons right off the bat but there might be more.  Of the ones that come to mind, one is in the List folder window (if using List mode) and one is in the attachment tab of the message reader window (could also be labeled "No preview") .  Which one are you speaking of?

The user is using the multi-panel viewing mode.
The tooltips of the icons explain in detail their purposes.
One displays the message body in the preview pane --
selected by default. Key [F8]. The adjacent icon shows
the message attachments in the preview pane. Key [F7].

Exactly right Guy. Thanks.
I just created three filters using the wizard via the filter funnel icon without a problem.
I just tried again from the new message window and that wizard does not save stuff.

I went back to the main home page and used the Funnel about 7 icons in from the left. I entered it all manually and did not use the included wizard as the functions are incomplete and I have to edit the Rule after using it anyway. Far better to just run through the manual set up.

Bottom line is wizards are not working for me.

I now have installations on 2-PCs and both are behaving the same way. It is possible that you have been a user for many versions and there are some controls that are being re-used when upgrading to this later version.

By me installing fresh from the current version, I am probably missing some remnants that you have left over in .CFG or .INI files.

In this case the install I am testing on is a clean install of 4.63.  Did some additional testing with multiple different messages and rule actions with no problems.

There is a history of some AV programs interfering with Pegasus Mail.  That's what comes to mind here, that active AV scanning is attempting to scan the winrules.pmc when Pegasus accesses it to write the new rules.  If this is possible, try excluding all Pegasus Mail directories from active scanning (usually \PMAIL and all sub directories).
