Alphanumeric string appended to reply

Well, I was able to recreate the circumstances exactly: same friend initiated correspondence, I responded, he responds commenting on the mystery string.  We did it twice, first with Clam Sentinel configured to white list - not monitor - the Pegasus program and mailbox directories, second time with directories removed from white list.

Both times, the string did not appear.

I guess I will have to wait for the mystery string to reappear to farther pursue its cause.

Thanks for the consult.

Hello, Pegasus Community,

Searching in the Pegasus FAQ forum for "alphanumeric last line of reply" returned a single item, a very long IMAP article.

So I am asking this forum whether anyone knows what the alphanumeric string appended as the last line of my Pegasus reply to an email is?  A string search of my friend's original email to me returns nothing so the string is new and I did not type it.  I am also wondering whether there is something I can/should configure to prevent Pegasus creation of such strings. Here is the string from the reply received by my friend:

 E59B8672-45CC-46CF-896F-EFBE1E37F8B5

 Thanks for any help.

Try to prevent your AV scanner from interfering with PM.

Hello, Michael,

My AV scanner is ClamWin with ClamSentinel. Private Firewall is my firewall.

None of these is set to scan email.  Specifically,

- ClamWin>Configure>Email Scanning offers one opt in set for MS Outlook:  Incoming, Outgoing.  Neither is checked.

- ClamSentinel does not refer to email explicitly or indirectly at all.  It does provide an "Advanced" option to whitelist specific paths.

Do you think I should add the Pegasus program and/or data directories?

- Private Firewall does not seem to concern itself with email.

Thanks.
