Is it possible to do a reinstall without trashing my mail box(es) and other configurations like PMServer?

Not quite sure where to begin. Is the information you sent me January 15th still your current working configuration on machine in question? I did receive the copy of the old pm server document and do vaguely remember that old setup. Have not heard or seen anybody else using that old setup for a long time now and is also rare to have users using the -E and alternate configuration now. Is that win7 machine 32bit ot 64bit and have run PCONFIG to verify what is actually set now? Is everything currently ok on the "server" machine? What OS version is running on the "server" machine? Is the same win7 "client" machine still the one being used? Is the same mapped drive letter shown still the current mapped drive on the "server" machine for both home and new mail locations?

Hi Jerry!
Thanks for the reply.
The setup/configuration is the same as working configuration back in Jan. The problem is on the 'server' machine, an XP-HE 32bit laptop. Everything is (was) working fine on the client machine (Win7). In fact, I can log onto Pmail on that machine with my user name, access my mailbox on the laptop server just fine. Pegasus is running locally on both machines. It appears as though the laptop (server) machine has developed a distinct distaste for Pegasus (grin).
Since my initial post I've purged Pegasus from the server machine using Control panel/add-remove progs, uninstalled everything I can find that remotely refers to Pegasus and tried reinstalling. Still get the error message and won't load beyond the 'Restoring new mail folders' (an approximation of the message - it's just a quick flash on the screen). I included a graphic of the error screen cap. in a previous post but it's been detoured for review by the sysop since I suspect it's a large enough post to be suspect. I'm at the point where I need to purge everything so I can start from scratch. But when I think I have, and reinstall, the problem persists.
OK, what have I done recently that would be suspect? -
I attempted to install a Canon scanner software on the laptop. There was an error thrown when attempting to install the OmniPage OCR module of the scanner software. Another module of the scanner installation aborted as well. At this point is where I experienced the problem with Pmail. Related? I have no idea. Removed all scanner software and drivers and associated modules via Control Panel. No joy. Uninstalled Pmail via Control Panel. Attempting to remove BearHTML Renderer using the uninstall .exe file in the pmail folder and it reported Pmail was currently running, close down and .... etc. This is after removing pmail from the machine. While it's probably not a wise thing to do, in desperation to clean Pmail from the machine I sent the entire pmail folder to the recycle bin.
Thinking this would no allow a 'clean' install, I proceeded in that direction. Only to find I get the same error/hang at the final operation of the opening Pmail window.
I'm wondering if there's something in the registery that needs to be deleted or edited? I've always been able to breath life back into my ol' faithful WinPMail but I'm at a total loss at this point.
