Unwanted attachments to forwarded mail

For the last couple of days I have found that all my forwarded emails are given an unwanted attachment. The reference is WPM$A7E7.PM$ and each forwarded email has such an attachment with a similar but different number. Could someone please explain why this is happening and how I can stop it. When I have tried to open the attachment Windows says it doesn't know the file etc
