Pegasus won't download certain eMails

[quote user="irelam"]

Have you tried the Selective Download on the File menu?  Select the message you want then click the Retrieve and Delete  button and then the Make It So button

It should download regardless of any rules

I tried this. Doesn't work . And as I said there are no POP3 rules defined.

Since Pegasus has not changed, and others using other systems at the same location can download these eMails,  I'm beginning to wonder if it is a Winsock or MTU related issue on the system having the problem.

Charles

Anyone have any thoughts on this problem I've just started having?

When trying to fetch eMails, Pegasus sometimes won't fetch the eMails from the server. If I delete the oldest eMail on the server I can download the other eMails.

The only thing the eMails seem to have in common is their size. Pegasus seems to get stuck on  eMails (with attachments) larger than about 600KB.

What's really odd is that  the problem only happens at one physical location.

I have done a forum search for this problem but have come up blank.

Charles

More information necessary to make educated guess even. Any pop3 rules active for that connection (server)? Any download controls for that server/host?

What is your set tcp/ip timeout now? Have you run session log and inspected the tcp*.wpm file in notepad to see if any error messages are shown? Heed the warnings about .wpm file contents.

No POP3 rules or download controls.

Do you mean the POP3 timeout? This is set to 300.

What's odd is that nothing has changed in how Peg is configured for a very long time. And Peg has been able to download eMails of this size until a few days ago.

I'm going to run the session log but was curious if anyone had any thoughts.

Any chance there is something going on with you POP3 host regarding message size?  We ran into this awhile ago at the office.  One day we could process messages larger than 5 MB the next day we couldn't.  Ours was on the sending side but the message size is what made me think of this.

I don't think so.  Others using the same POP3 host and Pegasus (on other systems at the same physical location) don't have any problems downloading these larger eMails.

Try checking your POP3 settings.  Go to menu Tools/Internet Settings then click the Receiving POP3 tab

Select the POP3 profile you use, clicxk Edit,  and then click on the Download Controls tab

The item "Do not download any message larger than....  (a value of zero means no limit).

Otherwise as I suggested before, try the Selective Download dialog from the File menu, to see what is not getting downloaded automatically.  You may have the setting turned on "do not download already read messages" in your POP3 settings (see above Download controls)
