Basic Spam detection makes Pegasus unusable

idw, I was wrong, I did enable Content Control.

What I did:

Tools / Spam and Content Controls / Edit (Basic Spam)  / unchecked "Disable this definition for now

So, at the moment I've checked that option again as it seems that was freezing Pegasus, thus basically there's no spam control.

Hi there,

I've turned on the basic spam detection. After I relaunched Pegasus the mail was locked.

I found another post here about moving all CNM files out of the main folder to restart Pegasus and it worked, but the spam detection blocked it again.

It sounds weird that a built-in tool to check the spam makes the program unusable.

What version of Pegasus Mail? Did you install it for the first time or update an existing installation?

Ok, now we need to understand your issue:

What does "the mail was locked" mean? Do you refer to the warning Pegasus Mail issues on startup after it encountered a serious problem preventing it from deleting the "mailbox locked" file? If so you can simply continue without doing anything else, Pegasus Mail might not be able to save your preferences and options, though.

Next please specify what "the spam detection blocked it again" means? What makes you think your issue got something to do with spam detection? Does Pegasus Mail crash or hang? Why would spam detection be involved?

By locked I mean that, besides the warning message, even clicking on Continue Pegasus freezes as soon as the main window appears.

The spam detection blocked it means that after I turned on the spam detection the window frozen. I had to kill the process and when I relaunched Pegasus I've got the warning and than the freezing again.

Did you enable Content Control or Spamhalter before it occured? For dealing with freezes/hangs please read the respective post at the top of this forum.

Thank you idw,

I'll check that post.

P.S. I didn't enable Content Control neither Spamhalter.

So what did you do to enable spam detection if you don't use either of these??? An external (AV- or malware detection) application? If so be advised that this may cause all sorts of trouble, you'll certainly find several posts dealing with such issues in this forum.

I'll check my settings again. If I messed up with that, I guess I can still move the CNM, set up the spam filter correctly, and move the CNM one at time.

Thanks.
