Pegasus 4.63 does not start in Win 8.1 (64). The program is installed in c: \ program files \ pmail. The only thing that happens when I start the program, is that the Pmail logo flashes for 1/10 of a second on the screen. The program seems to be installed correctly and everything seems to be ok in the directories.

Wrong install location, won't work there. Must be installed to c:;\pmail only. Win 6.0 Vista and later must be installed to c:\pmail because program files locations are read only locations and Winpm-32 must be able to write data to all ..\pmail and below during normal operations.

Get http://www.vandenbogaerde.net/pegasusmail/pf_pmfiles.html
from Han's site and use that to know which files to import from old install to your new install home mail box location on drive. You will need to copy all *.pmm and *.pmi pairs as well as any *cnm files (new mail messages) at the least. Do *not* copy any files that contain configuration or any path data since that almost certainly will be different now on new OS and drive.

Did you install in single user mode or multi user mode? If mullt user mode command line or icon target must contain user name. See Help, Commandline options and the -I information. Is your new home mail box location c:\pmail\mail or is it c:\pmail\mail\admin now?  Use Help menu and About and the Info button to display current home and new mail box location.

On start up is winpm-32 asking for username now?  A typical command line or target line would look like

C:\PMAIL\Programs\winpm-32.exe -roam -A -i admin

plus any -ID <identity> if using an Identity also.
