As I am not comfortable about giving you instructions on how to update the registry, I suggest you go to the Pegasus Mail executables directory (eg: c:\programs\pmail NOT c:\program files\pmail) and there you should find a program called SetPMdefault.exe.
Run this program, and it will add the necessary entries to your registry. Once you have run this program, go to Windows Explorer, right click on any file, and then select menu "Send to..." You should see a list of email capable clients (including Pegasus Mail). You should also already have run WsSetup.exe from the ssame directory, as part of the installation of Pegasus Mail on Windows 8 to make Pegasus Mail the default mailer for your system.
