That seems to have done the trick. Thanks. I was a little paranoid about editing the CFDEFS filie, though, since there's a comment in it that implies it's not intended as a user editable file.
With respect to autofiltering in general - if I have a sender with more than one return email address or have more than one sender that I want to have 'autofiltered' to a particular folder, is this something that the feature is designed to deal with? I think my problem stemmed from the fact that I had rec'd emails from this particular sender with varying return addresses. Such things as stuff he'd forwarded from other sites.
