IERenderer print problem

Last night, while researching IE11 print problems some more, the most similar problem to mine was someone with a Brother printer who could print OK from everything but IE11, but got a mix of good and bad with IE11.

Most of the IE11 print problems see to be all or nothing, not a mix of good and bad, and my printer is a Brother.

One of the reasons I've been trying to print less is that besides having to eventually throw away the printouts, when my toner runs out I need to decide whether to buy another cartridge or buy a new printer. The less I print, the more I prolong this decision (pro-active procrastination).

Whether IE11 by itself can print is of no importance to me, but since that is what IERenderer uses, it does matter, as that is only time IE11 is used for printing.

I've already wasted more paper testing all this than I'd likely be printing this year. So, for now, if I need to print a message, I'll either view it in Firefox, or save it as text, and use my text editor to print it. And maybe when the time comes, I'll buy a more modern non-Brother printer.

Last month, while working on my taxes, I wanted to print out a confirmation message, but for the first time ever, IERenderer just printed garbage, mostly blank white squares.

I've been printing less and less, so don't know offhand what system change may be causing the problem.  I did go from IE8 to IE11, and install Microsoft update OK'd by Windows Secrets Patch Watch. The printer and driver have remained unchanged for years. Firefox and IE11 web pages print OK.

My system is a Window 7 Home Premium 64-bit machine, with:

WinPMail version: Version 4.63 (Win32), Dec 22 2011, build ID 325
IERenderer.dll: File version: 2.4.9.2
LibTidy.dll: File version: 1.0.6.0 Created: 01/31/2013

Some on the Pegasus for Windows mailing list suggested that I post the problem here, as the developers are more likely to see it, but many attempts with my Mediacom e-mail address didn't get me validated, so I tried again today with my apparently more highly regarded Netzero e-mail address.

How do I troubleshoot this?  I've never had an IERenderer problem before, so don't know where to begin?

Well, I have no idea how to fix this since there's no way for me to interfere with IE's printing: If it displays a message correctly and shows a proper print preview I'm out of control of any further print processing. One question though: If you right click into the "problem message" and select Open message in web browser you should get a chance to open it in the IE browser itself: Does it print properly from there?

Aside from this, could you forward this message (attached to another email or as CNM file from the new mail directory) to <beta-reports [at] pmail.gen.nz> with a subject pointing to this forum thread?

Last month, when I first encountered the problem, the message printed OK when "open in web browser" went to IE11, and other web pages printed OK, in IE11.

But, today, after installing the new Pegasus Version 4.70 (Win32), and testing a different message, that message didn't print OK when viewed by IE11, or even when going to actual web page the e-mail was intended to display. Trying to print some other web pages in IE11 found that some printed OK while others didn't.

In other words, last month it seemed that only pages printed via IERenderer didn't print correctly. I print very few e-mails, and even fewer web pages, mainly in Firefox, very rarely in IE. But I do print the tax filing confirmation e-mail.

So, the actual situation is that since IE11 prints some pages OK but not others, the problem really is in IE11, and not IERenderer. I had no problems with IE8, so jumped to IE11 to be up to date.

Also, I was distracted last month by making many requests to join this Community, that didn't work.
