Suddenly unable to get IMAP connection

I have now installed v4.70 on top of v4.63, and on my first try the IMAP-connection functioned without any problems, even without choosing SSLv3. The DTU IT-support has told me that they with some difficulty got an IMAP connection from v4.70 to work, but only after choosing SSLv3. Apparently there is an underlying sensitivity to the operating system of the PC on which Pegasus is running, but I have no intention of digging deeper into that.

I am very thankful for the help provided to solve the problem.

Best regards

Stig

I have used Pegasus for many years and am currently using v4.63 on a Windows 7 PC. Until May 20th this year I could establish an IMAP connection to DTU's Exchange server from anywhere without any problems. Suddenly, one day later, it was impossible to establish an IMAP connection, and it has been so since. It doesn't matter whether I am at DTU or otherwhere, and it doesn't matter whether I am connected through a wireless or wired network.

The error message is: "The IMAP server that manages this mailbox or folder has reported an error during the operation you have attempted to perform. The operation cannot be completed." I have done an internet session log, and the log in the TCP000x.WPM is:

Connect to 'mail.dtu.dk' port 993, timeout 30.
08:45:22.653 [*] Connection established to 130.225.73.250
08:45:22.653 22: Error -32 activating SSL session (locus 6014, type 4, 'Invalid server key agreement parameters\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC\FFFFFFCC')
08:45:22.653 --- Connection closed normally at Mon, 26 May 2014 08:45:22. ---\0A\0A

The IT-support at DTU cannot give any reason why this error occurs, and they claim that no changes in security settings for IMAP connections were changed from May 20th to May 21st.They have tried to get Pegasus v4.70 to work on another PC, but without success. Their answers more or less seem to imply that I should change from Pegasus to Thunderbird, which I am not really inclined to do. (As a trial I have set up an IMAP connection from Thunderbird, but I prefer to keep Pegasus.)

Does anyone have a solution for me, or perhaps a suggestion I could pass on to the professionals at IT-support?

Best regards

Stig

I don't have an SSLv3 option named as such, but on the security tab I have three possibilities "Never", "Via STARTTLS" and "Via direct SSL connect". Both before and after loss of IMAP connection capability, the third option "direct" was chosen. In the meantime I have tried nearly all of the possible combinations of choices on the security tab, but to no avail. The setting "Via direct SSL connect" is also what the IT-support specifies. So I believe the error occurs somewhere else.

My apologies, I should have been more explicit.  SSLv3 is an option in v4.70.

Thanks, I will try to install v4.70 on top of v.4.63, and then try SSLv3.
