Pasting without quotes?

Hi there,

is there a way to copy and paste a quoted message removing the quote?

I.e., from:

> copied message...

to

copied message

Not that I have found.  I manually delete the ">" characters then highlite and Ctrl+J each paragraph to reformat if needed.

Since I'm not at home right now just from my memory: Removing the first quote sign and pressing Ctrl + J should be enough - likewise the other way around if you want to add a quote sign to all subsequent lines as well.

Good point Michael, at least regarding removal.  Note that the reply option "Special handling for long lines from original message" must be set to "None" in order for this to work.

As for adding the ">" character, I have been unable to make that work.  I find it  interesting that adding the ">" character to the beginning of a long line causes it to reformat but a ">" character remains only at the first line only.

Well Brian, it actually is a pair of characters, not only the "greater than" but an additional blank space: Try again after inserting "> " and you'll see it works ...
