Converting Pmail messages to EML?

One method...

CMD prompt:
  MD C:\_EXPORT\MAIL.MAI
  CD /D C:\_EXPORT\MAIL.MAI

Pegasus:
  Tools > Public folders
    Add tree
    Descriptive name... : Export
    Path to... : C:\_EXPORT
    OK
    Done

Copy or Move desired mails to Folder "MAIL.MAI" in mailbox "Export".
Once completed you may "Remove tree" in same "Public folder" dialog.

Return to CMD prompt:
  REN *.CNR *.EML
  DEL COUNTERS.PM
  START.

Is there a way to convert Pegasus messages to EML files?

Need to import Pmail msg into Windows Live Mail. Any idea?

One way would be to create a Unix (Mbox) folder in Pmail and move the message into it.

Then find the mbx file in your mailbox and run it though an mbx eml converter.

Thanks for your reply caisson,

it seems I've to do some homework, not sure what a Mbox is, not clear about moving the messages into it either.

The converting process seems quite straightfoward though Aid4Mail MBOX Converter.

In Pmail click on Add in the Toolbar to add a new folder.

In the dropdown box select Unix.

You should see a new folder with the name you selected. Messages in this folder will be saved with the extension mbx.

Manually select a message or messages and copy it/them to this folder.

Close Pmail and navigate to your mailbox with Windows Explorer and find the file or files with the mbx extension.

Copy it/them to your desktop or elsewhere and then use the converter.

Thank you so much caisson!

Since I've several folders which I need to copy my messages from, I guess I need to copy all messages from one folder per time, convert then re-open Pmail, delete the messages from the Unix folder and move to the next folder copying other messages and so forth, until I've copied all of them. Or, probably I could create as many Unix folders as I need in order to duplicate my current folders structure.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I know nothing of Windows Live Mail or its Import capabilities.

If you wait others here will probably know of more expedient alternatives.

.EML files are just plain text mail files, one file per message, just like the .CNM files used in Pegasus' new mail folder.

If the mbx folder solution doesn't work, you could try creating CNM files directly and renaming them to EML.

If a low cost application is OK for you then visit Fookes Software for Aid4Mail. Can read native Pegasus files and convert to many different formats.
