Extremely slow download with no final result .. just hangs

In Tools | Internet options | General you can create a session log which might provide some useful information.

Read the associated Help files before doing so.

You can post the log here if you wish but remove your username and password first. Be aware that these might be in Base64 format and not immediately apparent.

Firstly, I have been using PM for so long now, I am unable to remember.  When I first got the programme, my ISP supplied it on a small floppy disc .. which I think may have been 18 or 20 years ago.   I have recommended it to many many friends and have never ever had any issues .. until 3 days ago

My problem may not even be with PM, but any help or advice for me, being a non techie, would be appreciated

Hopefully this is the correct place to ask about my problem.

About 3 days ago, I started having problems downloading my mail with PM.

My machine connects with the server no problem, I can see that I have X amount of mails to download and then my PC starts to download them.

It starts with the first one (naturally), and then I get a percentage countdown for the first message. It can take 30 minutes before it gets to 100% and then just stops.  The message does not get downloaded and obviously neither do any more after that

I can go into the "Selective mail download" tab and see that there are no large emails waiting to be downloaded ( clogging the system )

Would anyone have any ideas as to the problem or perhaps have a solution, that a non techie like me can do

My version is  WinPMail version: Version 4.63 (Win32), Dec 22 2011, build ID 325

Thanks in advance

Apologies for taking up bandwidth.

This issue has been resolved.

I am not sure what the problem was, but surprisingly ..  it "Fixed itself" about an hour ago and I have no idea what happened or who resolved the issue.

Very weird, that it resolved itself a few hours after I posted the issue

If you encounter this issue again, you can simply log into your webmail (assuming you have a web interface available) and examine your mail at the source. That way you can read/delete/move etc an problematic messages.

Hi Greenman, apologies for taking so long to reply to your helpful offer of advice, but believe it or not, I am experiencing the same issues this morning. I have gone into the "Selective download mail" on the file menu and deleted some messages, but I am still having the issue now.

This may not be a PM issue, I am not sure.  I am getting a percentage download of 100% on the first mail, but at 100% it does not download and appears to just hang

Which web interface do you recommend
