Personal name on outgoing messages

Thanks Steffan. The "send mail as" option is configured correctly, no mention of my G+ ID

Under Tools > Options > Basic Settings, my Personal Name is set. But some recipients are seeing my Google+ profile name instead of the personal name I have set in Peg. Any idea why that might be? These recipients aren't using Gmail, so it seems like there must be something in Peg that's redirecting to my G+ name?

Thanks!  ...Steve

Are you using a gmail SMTP server?  If so, the behavior is normal.  I never found a way to change it.  Best I can tell, Google assumes that if you are using their SMTP server then you want the message to appear to come from the Google account that you authenticate with regardless of how your email client is configured.

Thanks Brian. Yes, I'm using gmail smtp. It's odd though, because this behavior is sporadic - usually it uses my name as defined in Peg. And this didn't start happening until a couple months ago, even though I've used the same config for years. Would deletion of my G+ account fix this?

Gmail offers an option to "send mail as", where you can enter your name and other email address. Go to Settings and then Accounts and import. Any mail you send through the gmail server using Pegasus will then appear as coming from the email address you've entered.
