Thanks. I found them. I used a program to access my computer remotely and it changed my screen resolution and the windows moved off of the screen.

I think I must have accidentally changes a setting or something, but now when I try to start a new message or reply to a message, a minimized tab opens up on the bottom window bar with the name in it, but I can't open them to actually create the message. What do I need to do to fix this?

Two possibilities come to mind: 

1.  It might be that the message editor window got inadvertently minimized or reduced to a very small size but in this case you should see the restore up, maximize, and close buttons.

2.  I assume the above is not the case since it would be obvious so the message editor window is probably opening behind another window or off screen.  If off screen you will need to make all windows visible then rearrange them.  To make all windows visible go to Window > Tile or Window > Cascade.
