Filter - imap problem?

Hi,

 

I have been using pegasus using imap for my university account for many years and it still does exactly what I need. Just one problem has always occurred so far with all versions. I keep defining filtering rules but all of them are always ignored. never any filtering rule has worked. is it possible that filtering does not work with our imap system? or what can I have made wrong?
