....sometimes simple things stare you right in the face (or mouse)...LOL Thank you again
... this is not the simplest way to solve. I have changed the appointed program responsible for "mailto:" links in my browser to Pegsaus.

For the current release of Firefox e.g.: menu > settings > applications > mailto: > choose "Pegasus Mail WSENDTO utility".

In case this WSENDTO could not be chosen, you have to set the path to the wsendto.exe program within your pegasus program folder.

Once adjusted properly, every click onto an email address in the internet will open Pegasus Mail automatically with the email address added into the To: box.

Greetings

Joerg

Hello my good friends at Pegasus! I have used Pegasus as my email client for many years. I recently came a problem I never had to deal with beforeand that is MS Outlook. I have a few websites (school, college) I go to and on these websites there are email addresses (as in an alumni directory) the addresses are highlighted but when I click on I get a message for the Outlook wizard will guide me through the process of configuring Outlook 2007. The process will allow me to configure an email account. Going further if wishing to establish the information will be transferred to my client.

I do not wish to change anything I do not want to use Outlook which is a reason I chose Pegasus many years ago....all I want is to get the information and like before copy and paste the address to my outgoing Pegasus email message and send. Outlook to me is a major virus location.

Is there someway I can develop something from Outlook to accomplish my mission without it messing with my Pegasus configuration? Like I mentioned all I want to do is be able to see and then copy what I want. Is this something new to Office 2007. I did have Office 97 and never had problems. I just made a slow update as some thing were not working in 97.

Thank all of you for your helpful hints over the years and know I speak for everyone that I sincerely appreciate all the active users to help dummies like me

It sounds like the installation of Office2007 made Outlook the default mail client for your system.  Try resetting Pegasus Mail as the default mailer.  To do this go to Tools > Options > Incoming Mail > Hyperlinks and click the System Mailer button (be aware that you will not receive any feedback showing anything happened).  Restart your system then test a mailto link.

Sometimes the System Mailer button is not enough in which case rerunning the Pegasus Mail installer is required.

Brian...Just wanted you to know I haven't lost Pegasus as I didn't do anything to actually configure Outlook as I will always use Pegasus as my preferred mailer but simply cannot read anything from these sites as it (as you mentioned) apparently requires you to use Outlook

I believe I have discovered my problem and solved. thank you for replying though. On those hyperlinks I mentioned, I just needed to right click on mouse and I'm able to copy and then paste....sometimes simple things stare you right in the face (or mouse)...LOL Thank you again

You might be misunderstanding my point.  Your system maintains a record of the default email application which is triggered whenever a mailto link is clicked so you should not have to copy and paste the email address.  If every clicked mailto link triggers that message about configuring Outlook then the Office 2007 install set it is the default.  You can double check this by looking at the default programs for your system to see what the default is for the MAILTO protocol.
