There are lots of threads about Verizon issues, maybe one of these can help you as well.

A potential source of a problem like yours is corruption of the POP3 host configuration file.  Try creating a new one.  You can just disable the old one during testing.

You are using Pegasus Mail v4.70 correct?

No.  Go to Tools > Internet Options > Receiving (POP3) > Add > New

You could take some screen shots of the configuration of the existing one for guidance but I recommend following the most current instructions published by Verizon regarding POP3 configuration to insure you are using the recommended server host name, port number, and security type.

Brian...I tried a ton of different combination of settings to no avail...typed my fingers to the bone...the only 2 things I did not change was my user name and my password, as they are what I use to get into Verizon to get and send emails until I figure out what is wrong with Pegasus

It isn't necessarily Pmail. Download Thunderbird and see if you can get your settings to work there.

If not, the problem is with Verizon.

The only other thing I can think of is to delete the settings files from your mailbox and start again.

These are files starting with SMT and POP,  with the extension PND.

They are viewable with Notepad or similar to get the correct definitions..

Did you solve the problem with Pegasus?  If so, how?
