Computer locking up frequently when using Pegasus

The first thing to do is reduce the messages in your inbox to less than 500. Unless you have devised a filing scheme already, create a folder and Move all the items to that folder.

Secondly check in your Pegasus Mail menus for Tools/Options/advanced Settings and ensure that the "Load Windows Internet Services" is set to Always

Windows performs internet services by pausing everything else

I would recommend you look into foldering to store messages you want to keep. Automating this is achieved by using Rules.  For others, the Delete button will help clear your inbox. I would suggest keeping the Inbox down to 50 or less messages. They have to be re-read every time you re-open Pegasus Mail.

I'm using Pegasus on a pc with Win7 home premium edition, 64 bit, and the big problem I have with the program is that very often (almost dayly atm) when using Pegasus, the pc suddenly completely locks up and has to reboot completely (cold start). No cursor movement anymore, no key input, completely locked. Sometimes it is when Pegasus is busy, e.g. with making a list of received email (which is usually a slow process, by the way), and I start  another program in the meantime. It sometimes happens without any complex activity, e.g. when writing a new email with nothing special running in the background. At first I would wait a few minutes to see if the pc would wake up again, but that won't happen so at the moment I reboot immediately when it locks up.I have some 2,000 emails in my inbox and 250 copies to self.

Any idea what could be causing these annoying lock ups?

Kind regards,

Frits
