This seems such a simple one but I can't find a solution.
On my desktop machine, I've always had the "Delete mail on server..." box checked in the Pop3 settings. All good,
I'm now trying to set up a lap top (Windows 7) to check the same mail account as the desk top. Because I still want the messages to be eventually downloaded on the desktop machine, I haven't checked the "delete mail" box when setting up the lap top. This works as intended, the message downloads to the lap top, but remains on the server. The problem is that the lap top keeps downloading it again and again, every time it makes a check.
I contacted my ISP who said it was a glitch in the Pegasus software and I should use Thunderbird on the laptop. I don't mind Thunderbird, and it doesn't repeatedly download messages, but I greatly prefer Pegasus and can't help but think that I've simply not set something correctly.
