Missing address book

When I ran Pegasus Mail this morning I got the surprising message that it was "Preparing Address Books."  When it finally opened and I pressed F3 to open Address Books and Distribution Lists it showed me an empty address book called "Unkown."  My long-trusted and very valuable address book did not appear.  The Distribution Lists seemed OK.  I have no idea how this came about, and I have no idea how to restore my priceless Address Book.  Can someone please help me?

I'm running Pegasus v4.7 on Windows 7 Professional (64-bit).Sevice Pack 1.

Lo and behold!  When I rebooted my computer my Pegasus address book miraculously returned.  So I'm very happy.  But can anyone tell me what happened and why it got cured by a reboot?

I can't tell you why it happened, obviously some form of corruption, but a number of Pmail's configuration files are rewritten each time you open the program and that fixed the problem.

This is the kind of problem that occurs when your AV collides with Pegasus Mail. Both trying to access a file at the same time. I recommend you change your AV scan settings to ignore the Pegasus Mail NewMail directory ( ie c:\pmail\mail\<username> )
