Version 1.1.1.1 of the S/MIME extension fixes some crash conditions

[quote user="Baicche"]

I moved a signed message from the IMAP folder to the New Mail one, deflagged "is a valid MIME message" and it worked like a charm.

Many thanks again!

You're welcome!

Just a minor, but probably important update that fixes a couple of crash conditions which occured when trying to use the extension with empty certificate stores - which won't work anyway, but it shouldn't crash in such cases either. Go to the download section to get it ...

Hello,

is it possible to install Version 1.1.1.1 compete in the Pmail - (sub) directories and then run Pegasusmail and the extension with the -roam - option from a USB - stick  on  computers where no Pmail and PMPGP is installed,  without any problems?

The s/mime feature requires Microsoft CAPICOM 2.1 Library to be installed on teh PC (including the Registry Entry, not only the dll). If this is true on all your Machines, it should run.

I can't tell, someone just should try and report ... and I'll fix it if required and possible ...

I have installed the extension and it works great on POP3 accounts; I have been a Pegasus user since 1996 and this has probably prevented me from the need to switch to Thunderbird. However, the extension does not work with my IMAP accounts. Does the mention in the manual "except for IMAP folders" mean that IMAP4 is not supported? In this latter case when trying to check a digital signature (including mine) I get the following message:

Cannot open:

C:\DOCUME~1\[user name]~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WPM$25D6.PM$

Same thing if I move the message from the IMAP folder to the new mail and try again.

Many thanks in advance.

Please note that the whole extension only works because I've implemented lots of workarounds - it wouldn't work at all if depending solely on Pegasus Mail's extension interface. This is why IMAP isn't supported at all (it would just require too much hacking - if I could get it to work at all) unless David Harris fully supports MIME encryption and signing (be it S/MIME or PGP/MIME). Simply moving messages from an IMAP folder to a lokal one won't work either as there's some basic processing to be done on message download before Pegasus Mail even starts looking at it: This will only happen if downloading your IMAP messages via built-in POP3. Did you try modifying the message flags as described in the Manual decryption and the subsequent Hints sections of the manual to achieve your goal?

No, I didn't. Will be trying and let you know. In the meanwhile, many thanks for your prompt reply and great work.
