I spent some time this morning at the Microsoft Sync site, and as you mention it seems to want to sync with MsExchange/Outlook (corporate server).

However I did find some links that seem to suggest that there is a link (pardon the pun) with Microsoft Live Mail (a.k.a Outlook Express), which would be more useful with individual/private users See http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows-live/mail-import-backup-restore  which will allow one or two individual entries to be exported to vCard sets, or if you want a whole lot of entries then export to .Csv files (Pegasus Mail understands Csv files with a little tweaking)..

The trick here would be to get your Android to sync with Live Mail  :-(

Spamhalter puts what it deems as spam
into the defined as the "Spamhalter spam folder".
Tools > Spam and content controls > Spamhalter...

Suggestion - if the mail is POP'd consider a POP3 rule
which either deletes, or perhaps initially while testing,
leaves the mail messages on the server.
e.g.
    If header "S" is
"Considered UNSOLICITED BULK EMAIL, apparently from you"
    DeleteOnServer ""
Am now back on 4.63 with updates of Bears and what have you (IRrenderer) and still have the jiggling/flickering - it's fairly new (last day or two)
So what else happend in these days that might have an impact on this? Any other updates?
I'm getting better at this posting lark. One problem is I'm not sure how many days (2 or 3 maybe) , the other is I've no idea what updates have been made in that time - updates happen all the time, eg. Google Chrome. As far as programme changes go, the only thing I'm fairly sure about is a mending of SmartDefrag to get it to work and possibly installation of AdvancedSystemCare Ultimate instead of AdvancedSystemCare Pro and possibly installation of Microsoft Windows AIK, though I think there was a gap between the last 2 installations and the start of the problem.

In Community Add-ons area as http://community.pmail.com/files/folders/pegadd/entry37855.aspx

To prevent 100% busy conditions when invalid RSS feed data is used.

Rsshtml provides the same reporting that Rssmail does, but creates an Html file rather than an email message that RssMail does.

Thanks guys :)

The RTF option is on by default. I also tried turning it off.

We don't use identities. A member of staff starts Pegasus Mail with the -i <username> switch specified. Just one account is used for each staff member. If they need to look at another account, a second shortcut is created that uses the -i switch and the second username. Both shortcuts will then have the -ms switch specified so that multiple copies of Pegasus Mail can be opened at the same time.

It's a strange issue.

Filtering can result in what you describe.  You receive a new mail notification but the filter(s) moves the mail out of the new mail folder.  Do you have any new mail filters that are deleting messages or moving messages to a folder?  Is autofiltering enabled for one or more folders that is pulling mail out of the new mail folder?

Just received several messages, all say the same thing: This message contains binary or non-textual data that cannot be previewed within Pegasus Mail.

I clicked on delete but nothing happens. How do I delete these messages from the New Mail folder?
It sounds like you may have some zero-length files in the new mail folder.

Read this thread for instructions on removal:

Well I did just as you told me, after moving the mail I wanted to another foler closed PM and then opened Explorer.  Went to the Mail/ folder that held the *.CNM files and removed/Deleted them.

Had a project to complete at that point so closed down everything.  Now am back and checked my mail and there were about 6 copies of that message mixed in with some fresh email.  Forget it, about saving any email, I went in and deleted those folders again including the fresh email.  That seems to have done the trick, I HOPE!!  Only TIME will tell . .
Confirmed that a forward with edits results in the attachment of a PM$ file.
It only happens if the option for forwarding attachments is ticked in the forward dialog and results in an attached text file containing the original body text once again (no matter whether the original message has any attachments or not). Don't ask me why this happens, but it's this way as long as I can remember. IOW: You can either delete it before sending the message or tell your recipients to ignore it.

Thank you.

I only have one identity. It is labeled "default".  It has always been that way.

I am going to add the errors I get from Pegasus and in the returned email below.  I do not know if they will help but I figure it can't hurt.  Bobbie

I am willing to let this old dog lie and move on.

You all have been wonderful trying to help a total stranger who will never be able to repay your kindness.

I am going to try what I can this last morning.  I'll try the suggestions in the 3 posts directly above.

FYI-  Very early I tried to copy old files from old version and dropped them into the

C:\PMAIL\ MAIL\ADMIN\  directory as instructed at the beginning of this long saga.

I copied CNM, PMM/PMI, PMR/PM! and a few others from the list at the beginning.

I got pretty much the result I have now-- Folders show old data 2004 and earlier.

I tried several variations of that and finally gave up.

I deleted that 1st new install and started over with a clean new install.

This time I've tried linking/adding a new mailbox to the old pegasus folders with more or less the same result.

I only see old files in old folders pre 2005.

I've tried re-arranging my OLD ver files and re-liking.

Yes there is/was a /D directory in the old version.

I've tried linking to it with the MAIL/D and I've tried copying all the /D files up one level into the MAIL/ and linking that.

Either way I see the same old folder data.

So this is where I am now-- a clean new install that has been un-successful linking to the old folders.

I've disconnected the added mailbox link and got my new install working to poll all 3 of my pop3 addresses.

************************************

I think Jerry's comments 2 messages up assume I still have the old files copied into the new install??

That is not the case.  Also there are no other subdirectories in the old pegasus version.

It was .....\MAIL\D and that's all.  I tried it that way -no good so I copied all the \D files into the \MAIL directory

and tried the link again with the same result.

************************************

Today I will try Michael's suggestion above

1. It might be necessary to delete the file hierarch.pm in

the old mailbox you're trying to link in (maybe rename and only delete

after seeing success of some kind, trays will be gone if doing so).

2. It might help to run mbxmaint_ui.exe (from Pegasus Mail's ...\programs\ subdirectory) for fixing folder indexes of your old folder files.

Failing that- I will move on with a clean new install and start housekeeping with a new-more or less empty house!

I can access the old data using the old pegasus if I need an address or a receipt I will just copy paste the info into notepad or word or a new

mail message.  (Brian I know you've fussed at me to throw out my old Pegasus version and never run it again but it is the ONLY way I have

to access my data from the last 9 years.)

Thanks very much- My ball-cap is tipped to you all.....

Peace!!

 ************* final edit**************

I have copied the old address book files to the new install and now have what appears to be full access

to my old address books.  This is great BUT I wonder if using the old address book data will in ANY way cause problems

in the new install.  I'd hate to find some time down the road that my address books aren't quite up to par due to

the use of these old files
Get past the logon screen (enter user name) then when loading new mail folder Pmail hangs. Checked both (multi-user configuration) mail boxes and there aren't any mega files as has been the problem in other cases. There are, however, some 0 byte .pmi files. Is that a problem?

Tried reinstalling using the 'update' option on the installation screen; no joy.
So mailboxes are persisting and the error should be there.

Another problem while opening the inbox may be a corrupted CNM-File with a new mail. On closed Pegasus move all CNM-Files to another directory. Open Pegasus and copy back CNM-Files one-by-one. One of them may hangup Pegasus.

Is there any antivirus allowed to scan your mailboxes (specially CNM-Files) on read? For testing disable it.
