If anyone receives a  new mail ( a *.cnm file ) that is Zero in file

size the program immediately crashes through windows, it does not matter

what version of windows the client is running.

The zero byte file crash is caused by Spamhalter.  Checkout http://community.pmail.com/files/folders/community_add-ons_for_pegasus_mail/entry23105.aspx

Pegasus Mail uses proxy servers all the time.  The products AVG and Norton AV set themselves up between Pegasus Mail and the ISP server in order to do AV checking when downloads of email messages are required.

The space below the folder list is not wasted if, like most people, you have a long list of folders. Many of us probably have no space.

Form your description of what you're looking for, perhaps another e-mail program called The Bat! is what you want. It's very good but it is NOT free.

The clipboard is a shared resource which can be unavailable for new content when an ill-behaved app doesn't release it properly.  Also, it might not work if there are inadequate system resources.  Neither of these scenarios sound likely but are easy to test by cold booting then testing the copy/paste functions while only running Pegasus Mail and Notepad.

I found a solution by myself. I deleted the too big *.cnm and *.pcx file in the admin folder. Now the system works again.

I just wanted to say thank you very much for all your help! A friend of mine with the help of the posts and emails from another user resolved the problem (don't ask me what he did, I gave up and just let him do it). 

I use it but with Pegasus installed on a 32 bit system, over the network.

However: Pconfig.exe will not work with a 64 bit system. Otherwise it works fine.

Gmail has a daily SMTP linit of 100 messages.

Thanks - I see that note now. As some messages had retained their new subjects I guess they were the ones I modified while they were still in New Mail. Now I know.

Go to Tools | Internet options | (Receiving)POP3 , edit the POP3 setup and check the POP3 settings to ensure that you are deleting the mail once downloaded

Delete mail from host once it has been successfully retrieved  If you check this box, Pegasus Mail will delete the host's copy of each mail message it successfully downloads, which will prevent it from being presented to you again the next time you retrieve mail. Leaving this box unchecked tells Pegasus Mail to leave the mail on the host even if successfully downloaded. Mail left on the server will be retrieved every time you download mail.  

If this is checked the download may not be completing successfully and the POp3 account is resetting. Turn on session logging in Tools | Internet options | General and then look at the resulting file.  

You might also try using the File | Selective mail download to manually delete the mail after downloading. 

Thanks!  stunnel works for me, both in Ubuntu hardy and eeepc default Xandros.  I had hesitated to try it because i didn't understand what it does, and thought it would need to be installed on the mail server.  but that was incorrect; i didn;t need to change anything on the server.   I tried the Linux version sof stunnel on both platforms, and couldn't get them to work with pmail.  But I installed the Windows version of stunnel under wine, configured pmail SMTP to send to 127.0.0.1 and the stunnel input port,  edited the stunnel.conf according to the message quoted above, and commented out the stunnel.conf line for a "key" file.  Run stunnel, then pmail, and it works.

I haven't tried ASSP -- it looks interesting, but more than I need right now.

Well, I don't see a convincing reason for your problems with this message, it displays without any issues, and I don't see the (programmatic) link to sending attachments either. I know this is an annoying task, but can you still duplicate this behaviour? Does this message have to stay at a certain position? Do you use preview mode? Do you usually do a POP3 before triggering SMTP delivery? Do you have remote image auto-download (for HTML messages) enabled? Would setting Load Windows Internet services ... to Always (on Tools => Options => Advanced settings) make a difference? Although it might look a little bit over-investigative there must be a reason for this which might cause more weird future issues (one of them might be described in ), hence my request ...

Indeed the folders are sorted alphabetically and I am happy with that; the problem is the position of the mailboxes in the list. Before the crash, I had my IMAP mailboxes at the top of the list and a local store of folders beneath that; now the order is reversed and I need to scroll down to access the mailboxes that are used most frequently -- not a big deal for a small number of items in a list but in my case there are large numbers of folders and many IMAP accounts which over time means a lot of unnecessary wrist action -- ordering for me is quite important.

   Hmmm....that did it.  I didn't know that an extra identity had been set up.  Gone now and it doesnt check.  Thanx!
