Those emails appear to be gone. Not sure where but they are not on the Telus server and the only folders I see in Pegasus mail are:
New mail
Copies to self
Recent Search Results
Junk or Suspicious mail
Main Folder
The only folders with mail in them are New Mail folder and copies to self.
I should have read up on Pegasus thoroughly before doing anything but had no idea that when I hit the "Check your POP3 host for new mail" that the program would download and delete from the server. I had not set anything up so that is the way it installed.
All in all I have not lost anything terribly important but it is a little disturbing to have that happen. Again, I should have read up on settings and made sure the program was set up right to do what I wanted. So my own fault.
I'll see what I can do to get the rest of the email back to the Telus server.
I don't know the answer to the question of which one get listed in HIERARCH.PM but do know that there is a utility created specifically to address this issue. It is called PMRestArch and was created for the purpose of preventing internal ID conflicts when restoring archived folders. It does the following:
1. Copies all .PMM and .PMI files in the source directory to the destination directory and renames them as BAKxxxxx.PMM and BAKxxxx.PMI. 2. Ensures that the resulting file is Read/Write. 3. Creates a different internal unique ID for the file.
Find it at: http://www.lexacorp.com.pg/lexacorp_utilities.html#EMail
As for manually editing the ID, I have never heard of anyone doing it so would love to hear the results if you choose to give it a try.
The instructions on the Minidump page said to be sure to use the latest version of Pegasus. So I tried to update from 4.70 to 4.72. During installation it told me repeatedly that it couldn't find certain files. I tried to back out of the update, but it persisted, finally reporting a successful installation. But "About Pegasus" still indicates that it is running 4.70.
is your DNA connected to this forum? :) I just was busy for a minute to edit my postings a little bit and your answer is already there ....
The problem of windows explorer opening one's home-directory instead of one's system browser opening a web-address is not related with my system because it is "outdated". People with all possible setups complain and seek help for that matter on the internet, in many if not most cases because they want their portable browser installation (whatever brand) to be used as system browser. I went there for help before I posted here.
The new mail folder may be open off screen or behind another folder. To check that go to the "Window" pull-down menu and look at the list of open folders in the bottom section. If the new mail folder is listed select either Tile or Cascade to bring all open windows into view. You will then need to reposition and resize them.
As for the buttons not working, what indicator do you have that they are not working? Obviously the Open/rescan button won't appear to do anything without the new mail folder being visible. Newly downloaded messages won't be visible either. This should not affect sending though. Details of what you are experiencing would be helpful.
Haven't seen anything since so as usual, Pegasus rocks. Might be time for another contribution, think it's two years since I donated last :).
Will look at the MiniDump next time I have problems (promises, promises). Always nice to know exactly what is going on. Might even have figured out it was Windows and something odd network-wise faster...
Thanks for your help. One of the good things using "old" (I mean tried and tested :) ) software, people know something and there are no trolls around.
You should be able to use a distribution list if your relay server allows it.
You create a filter rule that forwards to your distribution list in the form of the distribution list filename preceded with the at symbol (eg: @dlistname.PML). So, if you have a dlist named "mylist" then you create a rule that forwards the message to @mylist.PML.
My situation doesn't allow me to do this because my smtp relay host will not relay a message where the From header is not me so I have no choice but to manually forward with edit.

I tried it without the @ before the name and it didn't work. I'll have to try it again.
Thank you, David. Yes, I could also see the certificate came from Comodo and that there was no problem with it. I'm satisfied that the file is authentic. Thanks also for explaining about why the file does not appear in the downloads section.
So in more detail, the slowness occurs when moving from one message to another - the timer cursor appears and it can take 15-20 seconds before the next message appears in the preview window; sending email takes an equally long time before it starts sending; changing folders also takes 15-20 seconds.
This sounds very much like a issue, did you consider and try changing it at least for a test?
I have just installed Linux Mint on an old laptop which I am trying to configure for travel instead or carrying my 15" behemoth. The instance of Pegasus Mail that I use for support is installed on a USB stick but reading posts about Pegasus Mail on Wine gives me the impression that the /ROAM option will not work. Anyone know for certain?
Melissa, I'm now trying to contact you via this thread since you don't seem to see Brian's and my replies to your recent help requests although they have been replied to repeatedly: Can you see this one by any chance?
