Guys,

I use the "paste special" function quite a lot in both Pegasus (Ctrl + Shift+ V) and MS Office/Lotus/(Other?) products (Alt + E + S).

It would be great if by default these shortcuts were the same (given that they do the same type of thing). Recognising that Microsoft has somewhat greater standard setting power, I'd like to propose adding the (Alt + E + S) shortcut to Pegasus... maybe even keep the old one for long time Pegasus users, but add the MS shortcut in addition.

Cheers,

Rolf

My experience of the average PC user is that they just plod on. I've been a network administrator for 12 years now, providing support to staff and my experience is that those who are not PC savvy do not think to look at the options to see if this can be changed. Those staff that do attempt it often find it a chore trying to find the setting. This is why I asked if the default installation configuration can be changed. I ask for two reasons:

1. New customers will be able to select more than one attachment without wasting time figuring out how to enable multiple file selection.

2. It makes Pegasus Mail just that little bit more user friendly.

My dearly beloved wife --my poor wife-- "lost" an important branch of her folder hierarchy by trying to copy a large branch under another tray.  The files are still in her mail folder, and some can be located with a search, opened and moved, while others aren't showing their heads.

So I poked around to figure out how to help her. Someone mentioned editing the hierarchy.pm file.  I'd like to be able to do that, but I have only educated guesses about how to do that.  IS THERE ANY technical documentation, that explains, for example,

 • the syntax of the lines (which come in a few different patterns),
 • what the pair of digits at the beginning of lines mean
 • the structure of the file as a whole (e.g., any ordering constraints there might be
 • and what is the good and the bad (danger!!) of directly editing this file
 • DOCUMENTATION on the  the structure of entries, what can be omitted?

Perhaps this should be another message thread? ...say, "hierarchy.pm?

Mr. Harris,

I have not been using PMail for about 2.5 years, my Wife just would not accept it and use it so we went through many other clients, finally setteled with one and she was not happy with that one either but accepted it and worked.  My Wife passed on Mother's Day this year, 13 May, 2012.

I now am back to using Pegasus Mail again, thank you for this latest update the look is GREAT, except for a few little problems.  One is the same as what is posted in this thread, double spell check is a big pain for each message.  There are others, they will be posted elsewhere, am not going to high-jack another person's thread.

I do hope this will not be a problem in v5.x the latest version 4.63 looks very well put together and I will stay with you.
I use the latest offical version (4.63) and I only write and read text-version of messages. The solution which indeed was delivered in the support-forum is, that the effect disappers when I activate the "Use IERenderer"-option.
But you certainly reply to HTML messages here, otherwise IERenderer would not be involved. IOW: No matter what you prefer, if the messages replied to solely contain HTML text you're stuck with it no matter whether you like it or not ...

I suggest you got to Pegasus Mail menu Help/Help Index.  You will find a summary of features and functions. Clicking on any one of these items will then branch to the detailed portion of the Help file.

You appear to have solved your own problem - insert the image using the tools provided.

I don't know what happened before, but you may not have been pasting just the image - there may have been some HTML code as well.

Could it be due to the checking of SPAM? Have the first 2k of the message viewed for spamhalter.

500 e-mails incoming to the 'main folder' which stops automatic checking after 750, plus spamhalter looking at the message (modified to the first 2048 bytes, not the full message) could be  a real drag on opening the folder.

of course may be far off in my guess.

Have you tried Copy or Move on a selected set of messages?   Have you tried Trays and Folders for filings?

[google-translation:] Here are some wishes for the Version 5

- by a user who is 20 years pmail remained faithful. I would usually keep all the mails, but not the attachments,

which are often very large. The deletion (even better would be a function such

as save and then automatically delete) does not work by (German?) Keyboard

shortcut. Therefore I can not automate it. It would be wonderful if deleting

attachments would also work if an email is no longer in the folder for new

mail - perhaps with a filter rule.

Besten Dank!

Hi, Olaf

The point is that although the focus switches to the window that has been selected, the window remains out of sight. Windows within windows may keep everything nicely separated, but if they can not be programmed to automatically come into view when slected via a list, it causes confusion for people who use it.

I never allow Pegasus Mail's windows to move beyond the edge of the screen because of this, but many of the other staff in our office do not. When you click on an item to display it, it is expected that the window will be displayed, not remain hidden off screen.

I brought this up because some of our staff have asked for help, wondering why they were unable to see a window they had selected. I know that it is simply a matter of dragging the scroll bar accordingly to move the window within the window into view, but none of the other applications our staff use have this functionality. The windows employed by other applications are discreet and while they can be moved so that part of the window can be moved beyond the screen area, part of that window still remains within the screen, and when selected from a drop-down list, it pops into view.

Where does Pegasus pop up if you start it? On primary or wanted screen?

If it is the wanted screen, you may have a look at STATE.PMJ (it's a textfile) and the pixel-coordinates for several subwindows. Some of them should be very high (for most right screen) for horizontal coordinates, but some may be as low as neccessary for corresponding to resolution capabilities of primary screen.

Most times the problem are the drivers for your grafics device. Had completly different behaiviour on same hardware with different driverversions. There are some free tools on internet to correct those problems. Have to ask my colleague on monday which one he prefers ... /me everytime uses only one screen :-)

bye    Olaf
