I have been driven mad for months, as I will be in the middle of writing an email and suddenly everything will lock and I can't write any more - or Pegasus will cut off altogether and I have to log on again. I find the mail I was writing in 'Open saved messages' and finish it, and then it will send. Each time I get a 'program not responding' message and an error report.  This can also happen if I receive a long email with pictures or attachments. Pegasus will start to download it and then suddenly stop. All I can do is click on Task Manager, see "not responding" against Pegasus and end the task.  When I get the error message, it says:

Does anyone know what is going on? If I leave the Pegasus email program open and go back to it half an hour later there will just be a blank screen. Again I have to 'end task' and log on again. It's very frustrating and time consuming.   I don't want to download another version of Pegasus or I'll lose all the saved emails that I have and need to refer back to. Help!!

If you load another version of Pegasus Mail, you will not lose your existing messages.  But to be safe you could make a backup copy of your messages in ie c:\pmail\mail or c:\pmail\mail\<username>

Many thanks Martin. I saved a batch, but now don't know how to open them. If I click on the files it asks me what I want to open them with. I tried Adobe etc without success

The files *.pmm and *.pmi are the message folders pair of files. You should not need them. Just download the current version of Pegasus Mail and run the automatic setup program. When prompted just click on the Update button. When it is finished just start up Pegasus Mail.

But before you do any of this, make sure your Anti-virus software is ignoring the c:\pmail directory tree.
