Mail Filtering Conundrum

Using two spam detection products certainly adds to the complexity.  Congrats on figuring it out.

I've been trying to accomplish a task for quite some time (albeit off and on) with no success, so I am asking the community for any tidbits of knowledge that they may wish to offer.

I use Mail Filtering for several purposes, most of which are done very successfully.   With this one exception:  My anti-virus is set to add the text "SPAMM" to any messages it sees as liekly to be spam.  (I use two "m"s to prevent confusion with the lunch meat).  As it is nearly 100% accurate, I have set the filter rule to delete any messages with "SPAMM" in the subject line.  I have tried with both "Exact Match" checked and un-checked, but it won't do it.  I've tried adding a space after the word ("SPAMM ") as well as setting the rule to simply change the color of the message (as an experiment) but no luck.

 What am I doing wrong?

Are you using a new mail filtering rule when the folder is opened?

Are you using a header filter looking at just the Subject header for content that contains SPAMM (no quotes, no exact match) or are you using an expression filter to try to detect just "SPAMM" without detecting words like spammers or spamming?

Have you put the rule at the top of the rule list to rule out interference by other rules?

Hi  there,

Instead of the blank character after the SPAMM, try changing it to an asterisk  ie SPAMM*

Well, I have discovered a partial answer.  The reason has been that Spamhalter moves the suspected spam to my Junk Folder prior to the filter looking for matches.

No I shall apply the rule to that folder and see what happens.
