Not Collecting Mail

Selective download worked on messages other than the 15,646

bytes one which was a particularly suspicions looking bit of spam.

So I deleted it and then all was sweetness and light with

the rest of the messages tumbling into my new mail folder as soon as I did an

ordinary, non-selective, collect.

have tried deleting all the non-essentials first.

I would be very grateful for help with this!

I’ve run into the following error when trying to collect mail

Hostname: pop.enterprise.net

Name of POP3 profile: [my email address}

Description of Error: “An unexpected error has occurred during the

transaction with the host”, then:

08:41:09.659: --- 4 May 2016, 8:41:09.659 ---

08:41:09.659: Connect to 'pop.enterprise.net',

timeout 60 seconds.

08:41:10.698: >> +OK Dovecot ready.

08:41:10.698: << USER newbery@enterprise.net

08:41:10.716: >> +OK

<< 0016 PASS XXXXXXXXX

08:41:10.857: >> +OK Logged in.

08:41:10.858: << STAT

08:41:10.878: << LIST

08:41:10.925: >> +OK 15646 octets

Then nothing: no mail downloaded.

If I log in using webmail, my box seems to be working properly with mail in

it that I can read and forward.

The ISP is Daisy Communications who say that they can’t see anything wrong

at their end. I also have another mail account with Plusnet which is working without

any problem.

I haven’t made any changes to my mail settings in Pegasus in years.

Hello,

First thing to try is to use the Selective Mail download option in Pegasus Mail. Click menu File/Selective Mail download. If POP is working you should see a list of messages. Select a message, and then click the "Retrieve button" and then the "Do it" button. You should see the message appear in your new mail directory. If possible avoid selecting the message with size of 15,646 bytes. If this works, POP is working ok. Try other messages in the message list. Finally try the message you have been avoiding.

But for what it's worth, it sounds like the ISP is terminating POP service and switching over to Webmail. You should check with the ISP.
