Creation of subfolder: possible ?

Hi Andre,

We are using Mercury in connection with Pmail. But when accessing remotely from home we are using Roundcube as well. I have tried to create a subfolder in an already available folder - and it works. Also after closing RoundCube and re-opening my account with Pmail, the new subfolder appears.

Cheers

Joerg

edit: of course, also via RoundCube you are able to create new subfolders only within an empty parent folder. As long as any mails are already stored in the parent folder, RoundCube will return an error message when trying to create a new subfolder.

In Mercury a folder can contain either subfolders or messages, but not both.

I tested this last night IMAPed in to my office mailbox from home using Pegasus Mail.  I was unable to create new folders but unable to create a folder in a folder.  However, I was able to move one of the new folders into another.  This morning at the office, using Pegasus Mail as a client, both folders are visible but there is no indication of the nested structure.  Obviously the nesting structure is not physical but a hierarchy record maintained within my home Pegasus Mail.  This is consistent with the functionality of Pegasus Mail but how Roundcube and Live Mail would handle this is unknown to me.
