I use Pegasus 4.63 across a network where the main exe is on the C drive and the "Home mailbox location" is on a remote drive, R. See excerpt from Info screen accessed from the About Pegasus Mail dialog below
WINPMAIL.EXE directory: C:\PMAIL\Programs
Home mailbox location: R:\PMAIL\MAIL
New mailbox location: C:\PMAIL\MAIL\Admin
TMP environment variable: C:\Users\LAP\AppData\Local\Temp
TEMP environment variable: C:\Users\LAP\AppData\Local\Temp
Recently when starting Pegasus the remote drive, R, was not available so Pegasus presented a dialog asking if a new mailbox location should be created. By mistake "Yes" was chosen. I believe this moved the "New mailbox location:" from R:\PMAIL\MAIL to C:\PMAIL\MAIL\Admin. As a result, the new mail folder is no longer visible. Interestingly, I do receive a notice when new mail is available but I am unable to view it. How do I correct this by reconfiguring Pegasus to one again look to the R drive for new mail instead of the C drive?
With Pegasus Mail closed use a file explorer to navigate to C:\PMAIL\Programs. Locate the PMAIL.CFG file and rename it to PMAIL_CFG.OLD (you can delete it once everything is working the way you want). Start Pegasus Mail. It will start up like a new installation. You will be prompted for the mode you want to run in (single or multi) so choose whichever mode you were previously using. It will then ask you where you want the user data (Mailboxes). Enter R:\PMAIL\MAIL.
As an aside, is there also some way to configure the TMP and TEMP environments to folders on the remote R drive instead of the local C drive as illustrated above?
Open the PMAIL.INI file with a text editor and modify all "Temporary files directory=" entries appropriately. The PMAIL.INI file is located in the mailbox directory (R:\PMAIL\MAIL\Admin).
