Brian I have worked on the newest file and have the internet options right now I guess and sent and received mail.So maybe I am okay now,  I also got a shortcut pined to the task bar which works. .

  The problem with a user name is one I have had before and wonder why. Now to get my addresses and other mail in the new file.  Thanks Helen

I have just spent a long time getting back to my email after a freeze up. It took me awhile to get the internet options set right and had finally sent and received a test message. When I set up a shortcut on the desk top and used it the file came up asking for a user name which I have never known. Before that I had tried a restore from my Mozy Backup and had the same problem asking for a user name. I need help.

It sounds like you were able to get Pegasus Mail running, configured, and sent/received a test message but now can't get past the username prompt on subsequent start up attempts.  If that is correct...

1. How was it started the first time?

2. Is the current mailbox content the content restored from the backup?  If yes, did you just restore data or did you restore the entire mailbox directory.

3. Is Pegasus Mail installed in the default location of C:\PMAIL?  If not, where is it installed?

This is hard to answer because I have been working on this since yesterday and probably did not keep good notes. Right now the one I am trying to open is in c:\Helen\pmail. This is the one that last worked. To open it I go to programs and down to the exe file and then get the box to put in a user name. This is not the one that was restored from backup but a backup I had on C. I deleted desktop icons and taskbar icons do I would not get mixed up.

   I also have another file I can open. It was a new download yesterday but I cannot get the internet options right, I guess. I named it Pmail16 in c.

    After i get one working i still have to get adresses and some cnm files moved. 

   I get mysefl all mixed up but still love Pmail. Thanks if you can help. Helen
