New mail folder state is not preserved

Built a new VM and all is fine with Pegasus ... I'm getting sick of Microsoft.

I am running Pegasus 4.72 from a network drive in a Win7/64 VM (fully up to date) on a Mac using VMWare Fusion (up to date).

Pegasus is installed in X:\PMAIL and the mail is there too. It is set to save the desktop state between sessions. The "Folders" windows state is saved, but the "New mail" window state is not saved.

Is there anything I can do, or is this a bug?

Make sure the main Pegasus Mail window is not maximized when trying to save the desktop state.  If it is maximized, restore down then stretch it to full screen.  Now open, size, and arrange child windows as desired then close Pegasus Mail.  They should hold size and position the next time Pegasus Mail is run.  You can maximize the main window again if you want just remember to restore down to change the desktop layout.

The main Pegasus window is not maximised. The "New mail" folder appears near top left and its height seems to vary.

The same behaviour occurs on 4.71.

I had no problems when running on an XP VM, but switched to Win 7 because Pegasus crashed regularly after an unexpected Windows update to XP.

Where is the desktop  state saved? Perhaps this file is corrupt.

STATE.PMJ is the file that holds the open window information.  You can remove (rename) it then reset the window sizes and locations and see if they stick.

No joy. I'll build a new VM and see what happens.
