Thanks Brian I'll give that a try.
Most of the e-mail is not critical but I am now working at home and some e-mails are work e-mails so I want to keep them on the Telus server not on my hard drive. At least I think they are safer there than on my hard drive.
I had a melt down after downloading Windows 10 ~ my PC locked up and would not do anything except allow me to open the command line so I wound up formatting c then starting over. I had Windows Live Mail before and didn't really like it so did some checking and found a couple of e-mail clients along with Pegasus so decided to try them. I installed Opera Mail and it seems okay but is the opposite of what I found with Pegasus mail in that it simply copies the e-mails, which is fine, but it does not delete from the server when I delete in Opera mail so I have to go back to Telus mail to do the deleting. Possibly there is a setting to get it to delete from the server but I have not found it. So I decided to try Pegasus mail as it got very good reviews.
It was a bit of a surprise when it downloaded my entire in-box and deleted all the e-mails from the Telus mailbox. I think I hit the download new mail button but I had not changed any settings so it is a little odd to me that a default setting would be to download and delete mail from the server. In any case, I'll do some reading and see if I can sort out settings so that I can set Pegasus up the way I want.
Also, I will follow your advice to get my e-mails back to the Telus mail box.
Thanks for that.
Kent
