Errors reading email messages

Of course not, but there should be an auto-saved message in the draft manager with the CAB-compressed DMP file as attachment. And even if the file type would be accepted by the forum it wouldn't accept a file larger than 64 KB which even compressed DMP files usually exceed.

Now with knowing that the DMP file was stored on your desktop I start to feel that your system appears to have a weird setup which might also explain the Pegasus Mail issue you have: The DMP files should be stored in you system's TEMP folder and compressed to a CAB file. Pegasus Mail's (menu entry) Help => About Pegasus Mail => Info screen shoud show where this folder is, and this info should be sent along with the DMP file (if not posted here) as well.

Frequently when I try to highlight a message in my Pegasus Inbox, I get the following error message:

This can happen with several different messages.  It seems cured if I close and restart Pegasus, but is likely to return, especially after the computer has been asleep.  Very annoying.  I'm running Pegasus 4.7 under Windows Version    10.0.10586 Build 10586.  Any suggestions?

It's still not there, Tom, if you want to post a screenshot go to the top of this forum's editor while composing your message and select the Options tab for uploading your image file (must be smaller than 64 KB, screenshot tools like the free IrfanView can shrink JPG files for such pruposes), see below. But in most cases text from error dialogs can easily be copied to clipboard either directly (just press Ctrl + C while the error dialog is focused or try Ctrl + A followed by Ctrtl + C).

Did you submit a crash dump already, Tom? It's the only reliable way for us to figure out what's going on.

Pegasus finally created a dump file when the error occurred.  It has the extension .dmp, which this forum's software will not let me upload here. 

When the error occurs,, which is happening more and more frequently,  Pegasus does not crash, and no crash dump seems to be created.  So what can I do?

It's not intented to be posted publicly, if only for privacy reasons. You should leave it in its place and either open the saved message (Ctrl + O will open the draft manager) or restart Pegasus Mail (which will prompt you announcing an auto-saved message)  for completing and sending the message draft created by the MiniDump extension, it's as simple as that.

Nothing as long as we cannot find out what's causing it. And if Pegasus Mail works properly after such an error it shouldn't be too bad, at least until I've analysed the crash dump. The only thing you can do in advance is update Pegasus Mail, IERenderer and BearHtml to their most recent versions. The post on crashes and hangs provides the respective download URLs in its first section. BTW: I can only properly analyse crash dumps created with the latest version of Pegasus Mail!

You should mail the Dmp file to: beta-reports@pmail.gen.nz

From the Minidump extension the email should contain:

- an attachment containing Pegasus Mail's system configuration; See Help/About Pegasus Mail/Info
- an attachment containing the compressed crash dump.
