Content Control: Sudden failure

I can't see any reason why content control should stop working. Try doing some controlled testing to see if it's a problem with the rule file or some general issue. (Create a new rule file with a test rule, temporarily deactivate the other rule file, and see if the new rule triggers.)

I would suggest updating to v4.80 as well, even though it should make little difference for content control.

Hi

I'm running Mercury/32 v4.73 and suddenly the "Basic Commercial/Sex Content Check" has stopped filtering.

I have restored a backup of the rules file from several months back which has made no difference.

I'm also pretty certain that no other changes have been made to the Merc configuration at the time of the failure.

 Any suggestions please.?

Hi Lesjubi,

I taking for granted that your intention is to filter out spam. We also used the Content Control for that reason for many years. But finally you are running always behind the spammers. I could only recommend to activate SpamHalter which is already integrated in Mercury. SpamHalter works fine, is simple to adjust, and our spam ammount is strongly decreased after activating it.

Cheers

Joerg
