Error: Ran out of Group Table for HTML data (Get HTMLWord)

Thanks for the replies. I know the installation was C:\\Pmail (at least that!)

I will be seeing them online again after the weekend and will check with them about if IERenderer or BearHtml are in place. I am a bit rusty on this, but will read your replies as I speak with them and sort it out. My father in law is a loose cannon on a computer (who always throws his hands up saying "I didn't touch anything!" so it's not always sure what has been clicked on to create issues such as this. When I spoke to them yesterday they said all was well, once again.

Hi there,

My very elderly parents in law (who will only use Pegasus Mail) were the victims of scammers who remotely accessed their hard drive (with their consent) and, as they were no longer able to access the internet, use the computer etc. once the scammers had played around with it, they had to take their laptop in to their local repair store, in a small town. The girl who repaired it told them that the hard drive had been compromised and that they needed a new one. (That is what I am told, they say they were given the old HD but they only paid 35 GBP for the entire repair and HD which seems strange.)

To restore old files, they had an old backup including a copy of the pmail folder which I have replaced in the usual place and reconfigured for their new mail server. The trouble is that I think the girl installed the latest version of Pegasus Mail and they had been running an older one, going on the principle that if it's not broken, don't fix it. I live in Canada and they are in the UK so my support consists mostly of screen share with occasional Teamviewer sessions.

On the latest of the screenshares, they showed me this message "Ran out of Group Table for HTML data (Get HTMLWord)" which could not be closed without shutting down Pmail entirely using Task Manager (crashing it).

Can someone give me some suggestions as to what might be causing this or how to stop it?

Many thanks,

Ellie

I suspect this indicates an installation or handling issue since it's an error thrown by TER when dealing with HTML which shouldn't occur under normal circumstances since HTML should be displayed by either IERenderer (the default) or BearHtml (if IER has been disabled). The only place where TER is used for displaying HTML is on the attachment TAB of the reader which requires you to manually open HTML parts of messages this way. If this is avoided such an error shouldn't occur at all.

I think you should check where the Pegasus Mail is installed on the new machine or harddrive. It mustn't be in the Program files directory tree, but in the root directory structure as c:\pmail.

You might get the system info from Pegasus Mail menu Help/About Pegasus Mail/Info.  Then you should see if you can find either Bearhtml.dll in c:\pmail\programs, or IERenderer.dll in c:\pmail\programs\ierenderer.  As Michael said in his posting, TER editor should not be invoked if either Bearhtml or IERenderer can be invoked in its place.
