No longer downloading mail

I have the latest Pegasus mail, 4.72 running in Windows 7.

All has been fine for years, but all of a sudden no emails are being downloaded.  I have several POP3 accounts and none are downloading mail suddenly.

When I start up in the morning to download, I see connecting to my ISP and then I see 1 of 125....then a 0% shows up and then nothing happens. It either stays at 0% and then eventually times out; or it takes 7hours to s   l   o    w     l    y count to 100% and then Pegasus freezes.  When I restart, and then hit download again, I just tries for about 10 seconds and then stops with no downloads.

My ISP insists this is a Pegasus problem and that nothing is wrong or has changed with their settings.

Any ideas how I can get my mail (especially now that this has been going on for 3 days and I seem to have over 350 messages backed up) ??

Thanks.

Select Pegasus Mail menu File/Selective Download  and you will get a list of messages available for download. I suspect that one of these messages is quite large, and it should not be selected for download. Meanwhile you can Select all the other messages and Click on the "Make it so" button to get them downloaded. You can then investigate the big message to decide if it is from a trust-worthy sender. If so you can select it and click on the "make it so" button. If not trust-worthy just select the message and click the Delete button.

Martin,

Thanks for your email and suggestion. I had read something like what you suggest on a post from long ago.

When I hit Selective Download, the cursor just spins, Pegasus grays out and says (Not Responding), and this happens for about 2minutes before it all stops and returns to normal. But I get no list of emails (now numbering over 450 according to Pegasus when I first log in). I have tried the Selective Download for the three email accounts I have, all with the same result. Nothing.

How can I tell whether something is suddenly amiss with Pegasus or with my ISP (who insist it is not their issue but mine)?
