Printing utility stopped working

Thanks again.

However, I am still puzzled because I did not intentionally change anything.  I had been receiving the prompt and using the HTML printing for several years (occasionally I would choose to not use the HTML printing, so I didn't mind the extra step involved with the prompt) when suddenly it stopped appearing.

Thanks to your help, I now know where to change the settings in case it becomes disabled again for some reason.

 Peace,

Craig

In older versions of pmail, I could only print text, but in one of the newer versions (I am using 4.7), a printing utility was added.  In general, I have been very happy with that utility, but yesterday it stopped working for some reason.  Any time I go to print, I only get the old style text-only print option.  I must have flipped a switch somewhere, but I can't figure out where.

Does anyone know how I might re-enable the printer utility in Pmail 4.7?

 Thanks,

Craig

Though I don't really understand what you call a printer utility, here are some background details about printing of emails: First of all it depends on whether you're printing plain text or formatted (HTML) text. And with regard to the latter it further depends on the HTML viewer being used. Plain text will only print without preview dialog (assuming this is what you refer to), and If you didn't change the default HTML viewer (called IERenderer) it offers an option to use its printer options by default for HTML emails. You should be able to change IER's printing options via IER's configuration dialog accessible using its taskbar icon on PMail's main toolbar.

Thanks for the answer.  That is the first time I have opened the IERenderer options and it took me awhile to find the checkbox to enable default HTML printing.  Interestingly, it now no longer asks me if I want to use the HTML print option as opposed to the plain text option.  However, if I switch my view to plain text, the plain text printing is also enabled.

What puzzles me is (1) how the HTML printing got disabled  and (2) why it also disabled the prompt.

This is the way it's supposed to be.

Default HTML printing is disabled by default, and as long as you don't disable the prompt (see below for how it looks) it shows up. It's controled by an option called ShowPrintingHint in IERenderer.ini (located in the respective Pegasus Mail user's new mail directory) which is enabled by default.
