Crashes when I push send or try to move a message

I have started having a very strange problem. Whenever I attempt to send a message or move a message Pegasus Mail crashes. It won't respond at all and clicking on the screen generates an error "beep" Messages that I try to send do seem to be going out, but the message remains saved when I close and re-open.

I have rebooted my computer and have twice done an update install with the latest version (which I was using already in any case).

I've been using Pegasus Mail since 1992. I'd hate to have abandon ship now.

I wonder if the hang is the result of a problem in the communication between the SMTP server and Pegasus Mail. The server may be receiving the message but not sucessfully acknowledging back to Pegasus Mail. Turn on internet session logging then do a send. The resulting log may contain a clue.

Be careful with posting log content because it will contain your security credentials in easily decodeable format.

Don't forget to turn the logging off when done testing.

So I found the logging options page (I think) and turned on full reporting. Here are the first several lines of the syslog.pm file. The first 10 lines or so seem to be reporting something with regard to my test message. The program crashed completely when I pushed send. After that, the log has information related to over 1000 messages sent a LONG time ago -- dating back to nearly 20 years. Also note, that it also crashes when I attempt to move a file.

Let me know if you see anything here that will help.

To become explicit about what happens here: This isn't a crash but a hang. And what certainly causes this (in both cases I assume) is the folder selection dialog opening somewhere off the visible screen, i.e. a simple ESC would probably get you back to action - without moving anything, though. Since I'm currently not having PM at hand I can't exactly tell you which one of it's configuration file entries to remove while PM is closed for fixing, but there certainly is a description somewhere in another forum post. I'll do a quick check.

Right you are! Esc exits out of the situation for when it hangs after both a send and a move command. No other windows seem to be open.
