Clickable links not working

Glad it's fixed.  Don't be surprised if you have to do it again following a future Win10 update.  Hopefully just a resetting of the default apps and protocols will do the trick.

I'm using PM 4.72.572 with the current versions of IE Renderer and BearHtml on Windows 10 64-bit. My default browser is Firefox 54.0.

Clicking links in messages bring up Windows Explorer, not the browser. Right-clicking on the link, the "open link in browser" option shows Google Chrome and IE, not Firefox.

I've recently had to completely reinstall Windows 10 and all my programs. On the old version, PM's links worked properly.

I've been through the various suggestions in previous messages but none have helped.

Is the consensus now that the fault lies with Firefox?

My approaches:

Toggle the default system browser (change it from FF to IE, restart, change it back to FF).

If that fails, uninstall/reinstall FF as the default browser.  This may fix your right-click context menu issue as well.

Hard coding the path to FF has never been necessary for me but it will cut out the fuss of the above steps.

My suspicion is that MS's zeal for Edge occasionally gets reflected in an update causing a problem for FF as the default.

Brian,

True, Microsoft changed default browser back to Edge again with the latest massive Windows maintenance release. To avoid the tedium of continually changing the default browser, it would be easier to just invoke Firefox or Chrome on the command line in Pegasus Mail Options/Hyperlinks. Personally I dislike Edge as it is missing MANY functions that the other browser have.

I removed and reinstall Firefox. The links are now working and Firefox is present in the right-click list of browsers, in bold to indicate default browser. Success ....

I don't think it was the re-installation that changed matters but the resultant need to update the Windows settings. It needed not only selecting the default apps, but also updating the protocols in the "Set defaults by app" option.
