Receiving duplicate emails

Read through the POP3 section of the manual (Page 130 onwards) http://community.pmail.com/files/folders/pegcur/entry69.aspx

Check that your settings are as desired.

For reasons unknown, my wife's edition of Pegasus receives duplicate emails. She uses Pegasus to retrieve her email from three different email providers but the duplication of incoming (Pop3) email happens only on one of these.

The emails arriving via the other providers, including Gmail, come through exactly as one expects, singly!

I have spoken to the host provider and watch the problem mails coming into their server, singly and going out singly - but when they arrive here, they arrive in duplicate.

I have reinstalled Pegasus  (v4.72.572) on her laptop, but no difference. I have tried with anti-virus turned off, again, no difference.

And, yes, the "delete mail on server once successfully downloaded" is checked.

Any ideas on where to search next to solve this riddle would be much appreciated.

I have the same issue one to three times a year. Is there anything in the POP3 protocol that can force any kind of reset between the klient and the server?
