Unreachable 'Compose new mail message' window.

Hello:

[quote user="Patrick Beddy"]

... a Pegasus dialog box that pops up on the monitor other than the one on which I am currently using PM.

Somewhat irritating, but I am used to it now.

Indeed ...

Specifically the 'No mail messages' pop-up, also used to it - After all, PMail has given me so much.

But like you say, it's not just PMail.

And I suspect it is not a PMail isue but one with the video drivers or most probably the window manager used.

Sala khale!

Hello:

I run Pegasus Mail through Wine in PCLinuxOS 64 bit.

WinPMail 4.72.572, build ID 572
Wine 2.15-1pclos2017
Linux groucho 4.12.10-pclos1 #1 SMP x86_64 GNU/Linux

For some reason, 'Compose a new mail message' has been opening the respective window positioning it right up to the upper left corner.

The problem is that it does this far into the corner, to the extent that I cannot reposition the window because the mouse pointer cannot get to the border to 'grab' it.

I fixed it once (can't remember, how, it involved deleting a file) but did not bother to fix it again when the problem came back.

Anyone know why this happens?

Is it possible that it's a PMail/Wine thing? I do not recall having it happen in many years of using Pegasus Mail under MS OSs.

Thanks in advance.

Try

Window | Tile

Or

Window | Cascade

then arrange them as you like

Hello:

Thanks for the fast reply.

Try

Window | Tile

Or

Window | Cascade ...

That did it ...

Which makes me wonder about when or what I changed in PMail to cause this window to open at the upper left corner like this.

Thanks for your input.

One thing we know about window positions is that running the same instance of Pegasus Mail on different monitors (different resolutions) or dual monitors can play havoc with them.

Well, that may well be the case.

It's two monitors (different brands, don't think matters) and same resolution as it is the same desktop across both monitors.

At least I now know how to fix it. =-)

Cheers,

I do sometime find that I lose track of a Pegasus dialog box that pops up on the monitor other than the one on which I am currently using PM. Somewhat irritating, but I am used to it now.

I have also encountered this strange behavior with some other packages, so PM is not the only offender here.
