AW: AW: editing the standard width / height of the search result window?

I've found it. [:$]When the search results are being presented go to the main menu > folder > defaults & layouts > use it as new default - and that's it.   My ignorance.

Thank's for help and nice weekend

Is there a way to pre-define the width / column width of the search result window? Other folders can be manually adjusted that the single columns for From:, Subject, Date, etc ... are wide enough, and on closing Pmail is saving these values.

But every time when searching for something, the presented result window is to small where we have manually extend the single columns to see the complete sender's address or subject of the listed e-mails. Is it possible to adjust these standard width / height values of the result window and the columns width inside?

Try sizing the search window as you like then setting the default size and layout to that window.  It seems to stick even after changing the default size and layout to a different folder window.  I haven't done extensive testing on this, just some quick ones without restarts so can't say whether it will stick between sessions.  I'll leave it to you to determine that.

FWIW, the search window displayed at a different size and position in each of my three instances of Pmail so it's a fixed size.  Hopefully we can figure out what controls it.

Of course, Pmail is saving the dimensions and layout for a particular search result window when adjusting anything therein. And as long as the search results are being saved and available in the folder tree, they could be reopened with the set values. But my searches will be deleted on Pmail shutdown. And for any new searches which cause to a new search result list, Pmail is using other predefined values again, which are too small.

My testing included multiple new searches and the resized results window was used each time.  I just did a couple of more searches in different folders and the results are in window layout that I set as the default.  I can't tell from your post whether it doesn't stick between session but will do a restart and test again when I have more time.

Maybe I have a lack of clarity, but how do you set a new default for a search window? The pop-up dialog for a new search is showing a SAVE button (beside others) - but this saves only the search parameters but not the windows dimensions, especially when the result window is not yet presented at this stage.
