Pmail find option not showing results

I check the content type of several e-mails. Some of them are in fact Base64, but many are of a differente type.

For example, I choosed just one, with this content:

 -------------201E30CDCF21413A52EF849E

Content-Type: text/plain; charset=windows-1252; format=flowed

Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

In the Subject field in raw view:

Subject: =?UTF-8?Q?Re:_IIBB_Miguel_Ga=c3=b1an?=

When I try to find this message in "Main folder", I use the following options:

Text to search for: IIBB

Single phrase

Delete search result on exit (I have tried with and without this check mark)

Search the current folder only

No age or date constraints

It takes around 4 seconds to search, and comes back with no result.

Ì have used Pegasus for a long time, but recently, when trying to use the "Find" button to search in folders, I don´t get any results. I have tried any combination of search options whith the same results: "nothing".

The same problem happened some months ago, and without doing anything, things went back to normal.

I suppose it has something to do with "some" windows update, but cannot find where to look for a solution.

Anyone has had this same experience, is there something in Pegasus configuration I should pay attention?.

 Thanks in advance

 Miguel

It would be useful if you could tell us exactly what you have done. Have you, for example, searched for a message you can see in your new mail folder?

Yes, that was the first test, in new mail folder and in main folder. Same results, there is no result, no message, nothing at all.

I´m using WIN10 with latest updates.

I've seen this when the text I want to find is in "Encoded" messages, I've not had the time or messages to make a full list of "which" encodings cause the problem, but

Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

definately does

Yes, base64 encoding is a PITA when it comes to searching. The only real way to find a message encoded this way is to search the headers only, assuming you know what they may contain.

I don´t know how can I see the eoncoding of the message to check what you say. But to give you an idea, my main folder has 2900 messages (must clasify them and that´s one of the reason I want to use "find").  Thay are received from very different users, countries and mail systems (outlook, web hotmial, facebook, pmail . and so on).

Do you really thnik that all of them are Base64 encoded?.  Anyway, I tried to search in headers only, with the same result.

Yesterday I updated to Pmail 4.73 version, but nothing changed.

Any other idea, maybe config parameter I have changed inadvertently?.

If you look at the Raw view of a message (double-click it, then select the 'Raw view' tab), and scroll down past the headers you will see, before the message itself starts a line with the information quoted by Shades.

It's worth checking the user manual. Choose the wrong options and nothing will be found. Pegasus Mail has a very strong search function. When I asked exactly what you had tried, I was after the settings you choose when configuring the options in the 'Search folders for text' dialog.
