Using internet adress in an e-mail

I know Martin has spent time trying to figure out Edge and my last understanding was that Edge couldn't be invoked by Pegasus Mail so you can imagine my surprise that I was able to.  The questions now are why did it work, and why on only one of my two instances.

Untill shortly I could left-click on an internet adress in an e-mail to open the site.

Now the system32 directory opens.

I have to right-click and tell to open with a browser.

This only happens in the Pegasus program and not in other programm on my computer. And I think it was the result of problems with Internet explorer which has now disappeared from my computer.

In the general settings - Incoming mail - Hyperlinks: I used the find Browser autmatically with no results.

Also using the Web browser commandline with Edge does not bring a direct opening of an internet adress: I have to right-click and tell to use a browser.

I'm using Pegasus in Windows 10 (64.

How do I rectify this?

I'm posting this using Edge invoked from hyperlink in Pegasus Mail.  I have never been able to do this before and at the moment can only do it from an instance of Pegasus Mail that is installed on a flash drive.  The locally installed instance invokes system32 as you describe and I can't figure out why.  Hopefully someone will have some suggestions on what to check and I can compare the two instances to try to identify why one works and the other doesn't.  Currently...

- Edge is the default system browser.

- both instances of PMAIL are set to find browser automatically.

My stint with Edge will be brief.  None of the message formatting tools on this site work with it.  Clicking one causes the editor to become unresponsive for many seconds.  I'm clicking "Post" now then switching back to Firefox.

Martin Ireland can comment on this. Edge appears to be called in a different way than the default one in all previous Windows versions which was properly working for all browsers including IE. For now there are only work arounds for using Edge, and unfortunately I have no Windows 10 available for testing programmatical attempts myself.
