I am running Pegasus 4.72.572, on Win-7. The latest Windows dot-net and security update in Windows failed to load a week or so ago, but did load today. BUT.. since this last update my Pegasus has become corrupted. (May be chance occurrence, or may be related) I had a number of filing trays, with individual message folders beneath them. All filing trays have disappeared completely; some of the message folders have reappeared as message folders at the top level; others have simply disappeared entirely. I am not technically adept, but this seems to me as though something has gone awry with the indexation. What is my best course now, to retrieve the lost records and hierarchy? I have full disc backups made, (I think) prior to the loss of the indexation. Would it be simplest just to restore my Pegasus to the state it was in at the time of the backup, (I will lose a couple of messages which have come in since then - not a significant problem) And if so, how far back in the directories do I need to go to overwrite all necessary files? (PMAIL/MAIL/ADMIN). And are there any other files I need, not in the PMAIL folder?
Or is there a simple means to get Pegasus to re-index itself and restore both hierarchy and lost messages?
Or has Mr. Gates broken Pegasus? (Does Pegasus use the .NET framework??) Would installing the latest version of Pegasus fix it? (if there is a version beyond what I have...)
