Tools > IMAP Profiles... Edit the profile. 

The option to always connect on startup is in the Settings tab.

Thanks for acknowledging the bike.  I just finished three days of riding in the mountains.  Wish I could ride the twisties for a living.

At the bottom of my Folders list, there are six folders, one of which is Bulk Mail.  First, where have these six folders come from, listed under an identity that I do not use; and, where did Bulk Mail come from, why are messages posted to it, how do I permanently get rid of it, SHOULD I get rid of it?

Sorry, a lot of questions, but I have searched high and low and cannot resolve this myself.

Michael,  Yes, I have an Imap connection, but account, not that I am aware of.  It is an ordinareBritish Telecoms account, with access to an IMAP server.  Shaould I just ditch all references to IMAP within PMAIL?

No, since I don't so far understand how your Pegasus Mail is configured: If using a POP3 account you would have the usual list of folders under My mailbox, if Pegasus Mail connects additionally to an IMAP account it will add another folder tree at the bottom under the name of the respective IMAP profile you configured on Tools => IMAP profiles. What you need or want to do with this account and profile is totally up to you, you can delete it or only connect to it manually or keep it like it is (it sounds like Pegasus Mail connects automatically on start-up). And, of course, I cannot answer any questions about why this IMAP profile exists in the first place (assuming it is one). Public folders would also be added at the bottom if configured via Tools => Public folders ...

Thanks Michael,  you've given me some things to look for.  I do have an IMAP profile configured because if I don't I keep getting messages about IMAP servers not being found (presumeablyfrom BT).

How is your mail accessed at present? Do you have different accounts accessed via POP3 and/or IMAP?

I would look at how each mail account is accessed and whether you access it via IMAP or POP3.

It may be that you are unnecessarily accessing a mail account via IMAP.  The message would come from Pegasus Mail concerning an IMAP server not being found. Check your settings.

I have a single POP3 account.  I have an IMAP connection defined.  I have tried deleting the IMAP definition, butnothing happens, the definitiobnpersists.

Is the IMAP definition configured to connect automatically?  You may not be able to delete it while it's connected.

If it auto-connects, disabling its auto-connect option followed by a restart of Peg may be enough to confirm that the folders at the bottom of your folder list were from that IMAP connection.

Hi Brian, Good to hear from you again.  I'll see if I can figure out how to diasabble an autoconnect.  Guess it must be in Internet Options.
