Strange downloading behavior

Did you try selective download to find out what Pegasus Mail is seeing? What kind of folder structure is maintained on GMail's server? Are there any messages flagged as read and are the 200 part of what you see? Since we cannot duplicate what you see you need to do some trial and error to figure out the issue yourself, I'm afraid.

I use Pegasus to retrieve my email from Gmail.com.  Lately it has begun downloading 200 old messages instead of what's in my Gmail Inbox.  The old ones it downloads are all from 2015.  I haven't the faintest notion why it's doing this, but I need to get it fixed.

How about checking your GMAIL account directly via its Web interface? Can you locate these messages there? Do you use IMAP or POP3 with this account for downloading?

The Gmail account works fine via my Firefox browser.  But I just noticed something I' d never seen before -- the Inbox is showing 1-50 of 1,090 emails.  I should show less than 200.  If you know what's going on, please tell me.

P. S.  I use POP(3) for downloading.

P.P.S.  Forget what I said about the 1,090 messages.  I was looking at the Sent folder instead of the Inbox.  The Inbox number is 166 messages.

We've seen Pegasus Mail loose track of previously downloaded messaged and re-download an entire inbox, sometimes multiple times before sorting itself out.  No idea what causes this to happen.

I can't explain the 2015 though.
